WCMD – Unity Stamp Co. Challenge #2 – Texture

Challenge #2 for Unity Stamp Co. for WCMD is Texture.  I used a textured card stock for the base.  Ran some black card stock through my cuttlebug with an embossing folder.  I also did some embossing.  Ohhhh and some stitching with the sewing machine.  First. Time. Ever.  Anddddd… some stickles.

Ugh, I almost forgot.  The stamps are from the “quiet essence” set.

WCMD – Unity Stamp Co. Challenge #1 – Shaped Card

Yes, it’s World Card Making Day!!!  At first I had planned on trying to do all these different challenges, from several different companies… Yeah, no.  I’m a very slow card maker.  LOL!  It has taken me all day to do the ones I’ve done.  I’m taking a break now from creating and am going to post what I’ve done.

So, what challenges did I do?  Unity Stamp Co., of course!  The first challenge is all about shape.  It can’t be rectangular, square of circular.  So, I chose OCTAGON!  The stamps that were used were from the “Live What You Love” set.  Oh and I also made the little hexagons in the middle using Simon Says Stamp HEXAGON border craft die

World Card Making Day!!!

Ok, so we are ONLY officially 10 minutes into WCMD, but I’m loving it already!  I had prepared earlier by making sure I set my scrap area up just right and I am pleased to say that I just finished my 2nd card!

So of course the stamps are from Unity Stamp Co.  They are older ones from the September & October, 2010 Kits of the Month.  The card front is made from scraps.  Have a great day!  Looking forward to seeing everyone’s WCMD creations!!

Longest. Week. Ever!!!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Friday Eve!!!  I’m excited the weekend is FINALLY here!  Seemed like it would never get here.  Ohhhh and it’s a LONG weekend and… and… tomorrow, well, tomorrow is World Card Making Day!  I’m excited to celebrate it for the very first time!  I’ve told the kids AND the husband that I’m UNAVAILABLE!!! In fact I started celebrating tonight.

I’m really excited about the card I made tonight.  I’ve been trying to use MOSTLY scraps on my cards because I have a TON of them and the pile just kept growing.  On this card, I made the card front from scraps adhered in a diagonal pattern.  The ribbons I had also pulled off of something else and had them in my drawer.

What I’m really excited about is the new stamp set that I just got this week from Unity Stamp Co.

I just love them!  Oh and they coordinate with Spellbinder’s Blossom Tags and Accents!  Love Love Love!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

TIC.. TAC…… FALL!!!!

Hi Everyone!  Well, I’ve been really excited about this challenge for the Play Date Cafe, only I came down sick on Sunday, so I didn’t think I’d be up to participating.  I’ve been thinking long and hard about what my card should look like for days, so when I came home from work tonight I was finally able to put it together.  Eh… as long as it’s before the deadline, that’s all that matters. Anyway, it was a color challenge and the colors were…

I can handle that!  After all, fall is my favorite time of year.

So, I decided to do something a little different.  I made a 5.5″ X 5.5″ card – my first.  Also, after I started working on the card, I decided NOT to put a sentiment on the front.  I really didn’t think it needed it.  I’m looking forward to feedback on that though.  So, here is my interpretation of the colors and what I thought it should look like.

I used my BossKut Gazelle to cut out the leaves and then just used my bone folder to add the veins to them. The leaves and the moss squares were all inked with distress ink.

I also decided to enter this into The Friday Mashup’s challenge: FM78 Let’s Get Twiney!

Have a great Fall, Ya’ll!  🙂

Another Retro Sketch Challenge!

Not much happening today, so I decided I would go through my scraps and find anything that I could utilize for card fronts and cut them down to size.  I also decided I would have another go at Retro Sketch #31, using ONLY scraps once again.

So, here is what I’ve come up with.  I made the striped pattern paper from 2 different scraps and the pearls I found in my bottle of flowers (something broke somewhere along the line).  Anyway, that is all for this evening.  I hope everyone had a great weekend!
