Hello there everyone! Yes, it’s been quite some time… again! I really have not done much in the way of card-making for the last several months, so I’ve not really had much to post. However, I’ve been scrapbooking.
I’m currently working on our Disneyland album from our trip in 2013. That album is just taking forever! After that I have our Disney World trip of 2014 to scrap. I have to say though, doing nothing but Disney is getting kind of old.
I’ve also been trying to hit as many crops as possible. I went to the Scrapbook Summit in Simsbury, Ct this past year and LOVED it! Loved it so much that I’ll be going back again this year! I also have a fairly local one that I enjoy about 30 mins away. It’s just a day crop, but it’s perfect. They are held about once a month and I’ve met some really nice people there. There always have a couple of vendors. One in particular that always has great classes – Andrea with Close To My Heart.
Anyway, there really is a point to this post, I promise. At the last local crop I went to, I signed up for Andrea‘s class and as usual, I was not disappointed. Yes, I was… Simply Smitten!
It’s a great layout and I’m still looking for the most perfect pictures to add to it. I’ll be sure to post it when I’ve added them!
So I got to thinking about how much I really like the Close To My Heart Products. It’s really the best of both worlds for me. Great Paper and Great Stamps! All in once place! I spent a lot of time checking out Andrea‘s CTMH page and started asking her questions… Lots of them! In fact, so many that we decided it was best to continue on the phone rather than Facebook Messenger. And yea, this is how I decided to become a Close To My Heart Consultant! I really wanted to do this, but I had some concerns. Really… one concern… parties. I. Don’t. Do. Parties. For me, there is nothing worse than having a party, inviting all these guests and having them purchase products out of obligation. Products they will never use. You know. We have all done it. She put my mind at ease and I ordered my starter kit!
So, after I made my decision, I went to my craft space and realized… it’s a MESS! There wasn’t an inch of space to be had on that table. It took awhile to clean up, but I did it. I then went to my paper stash to try and figure out what CTMH products I already had because I knew I had a few. Why wait until I get my starter kit to create something? I pulled out a paper pack that I had one at the local crop and decided to use that. It’s a retired paper pack, beautiful nonetheless. Click here to check out some of the other paper packs they have to offer.
Not feeling very creative, I took to Pinterest to check out some of the scrapbook sketches I had previously saved for time just like this. This one in particular caught my eye.
I now had the perfect sketch for the Flirty paper pack. I just needed to find some pictures. I had recently come across some older pictures of my mom as some members of my mom’s family have gotten together on Facebook to share some ancestry information. These were perfect, only I would have to wait for them to be printed as I didn’t want to use the originals. It was then that I decided to finally buy that portable photo printer my husband had given me last year for my birthday. At the time I had hundreds of pictures already printed from our trip, so I didn’t want to buy the printer then and just have it sit, so I told him to wait. Well, now was the time as I can see the way I scrapbook start to change. I did some research because I was torn between the Canon Selphy & the Epson Picturemate Charm. I decided on the Selphy as it seemed to have better reviews AND it was probably about $100 cheaper. So, off he went and I started working on my layout. By the time he got home (he had some other places to go), I was ready to print those pictures. And here is my finished layout. I think I like it. In fact I love it!
I hope you enjoyed my post and please check out my Close To My Heart page!
