Hello everyone! It’s been awhile or at least quite a few days. I have to say, once again, I LOVED Pattern Play from OnlineCardClasses and I can’t wait for the next class! I wasn’t able to make too many cards during the class, but the last few I have made are definitely inspired by what I learned. I like this card because it’s simple and it’s a great way to use up those large patterned papers that you’re just not so sure of.
Here is another card that was inspired by Pattern Play. I also used a sketch from RetroSketches and will enter it into their weekly challenge. I can’t say I’m a fan of paper weaving, but… I gave it a shot. Here is the sketch:
And the card I made from the sketch. It’s okay… I do like the paper I chose!
My final card for this post was inspired by the weekly sketch challenge at Operation Write Home. Here is the sketch:
And here is my card. I don’t know about you… but I just HEART those Hero Art Mid-Tone Shadow inks! They are YUMMY!
Hello Everyone! I am just really loving Pattern Play! I did some stamping on pattern paper today, which I’d never done previously. I won’t bore you by carrying on today, I’ll just show you the cards I made.
I hope you enjoyed them!
I am so excited to be participating in the newest Online Card Class – Pattern Play! I struggle with pattern paper constantly! I love the stuff. I have tons of it, but… It intimidates me! Well” struggle no more! I learned so much on the first day! I wish I could share it all with you, but since I cannot, you really need to go check it out or yourself! You will NOT be is appointed! Here is what I CAN share with you… My card for Day 1! Enjoy!
Wow… 2 posts in ONE day! Imagine that! I just love the sketch challenges from Operation Write Home. It really kind of nudges me and sometimes I need a lot of nudging! Here is the sketch:
And here is the card that I created or one of several very similar.
In other news, I’m really excited about an Online Card Class that I’m taking – Pattern Play! It started on Monday and I’ve made 3 cards that I can’t wait to share with you. Perhaps tomorrow. Anyway, please check it out!
Enjoy! Peace out!
Gosh, where does the time go?!?!? Anyway, I saw the Operation Write Home – Midweek Throwdown Color Challenge last Wednesday when it came out and right away a light bulb went off and I had an idea! I finally was able to make the card on the weekend and well… here we are right on the heels of another challenge and I’m finally posting it! So, the challenge colors were Blue & Green. If you wanted to add an extra zing, you could add orange and a neutral. Here is what I came up with.
I think that little guy is hella cute! Have a great rest of the week!
Hello Everyone! I’ve been busing making cards this past week. In fact, I went to an all day crop on Saturday, which I really enjoyed. I never get as much done as I would like, but I enjoyed the company and did do more than I would have if I had stayed home. Fun stuff! Oh and I won some card-stock! Woot!
So, the card I made for the challenge this week was NOT started after looking at the sketch. In fact I had come home from my all day crop on Saturday with all the pieces cut out for it, it just needed to be put together. It was ONLY when I checked out the new sketch that I realized that my card was soooooooo similar to the sketch, that there was no way I couldn’t submit it. I’m telling you, I think someone from OWH has been spying on me. LOL! Anyway, here is the sketch:
And here is my card:
Notice the gold shimmer to the card-stock!
There were a few supplies that I had used that I was unable to link. The card-stock, I believe, is a Basic Grey pattern, but I could be wrong. I thought I had another sheet, but unfortunately, I do not, so I can’t tell you what it is. If you know… please contact me! I also was unable to link the Creative Memories Heart Punch that I used as well as the Recollections Faux Pears & Shimmering Card Stock.
Hi Everyone! I’ve not done much in the way of card-making this week. It’s been a lazy week. I must be gearing up for the full day crop I have coming up on Saturday! I did, however, do an Operation Write Home Sketch Challenge, or… at least… attempted to. Bahaha! I got a little distracted and well, the next thing ya know, it was a completely different card. It’s ok though, because I love it!
Here is OWH Sketch Challenge #162:
So I started with an image that I just fell in love with. I’m not even sure at this point where it came from. I colored him in with 17 different copics color. I point this out because I needed to let you know WHY I hadn’t linked them at the bottom. It seemed a bit… uh… excessive. Anyway, anyone who knows me knows, I have girls. So, I have any kind of floral pattern, girly colored, printed paper you could ever want and more! I really have no boy paper. So, finding the right paper proved to be a difficult task, but, I did it. Is he just adorable or what? Now, I know it doesn’t look too much like the sketch, but work with me on this. Take that bottom 4 1/4″ X 2″ paper on the bottom and bring it to the top. Do you see where I’m going with this?
I really enjoyed doing this “boy” card. It was a first for me and I liked it! I hope you like it as much as I do! Oh and very many thanks to Lisa for the great sentiment!
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted, but as you can see… things have changed! Yes, a new blog with a new url! It wasn’t easy (at least for me), but with help from a very special friend, it came to be. Thanks Lisa!
So, what else has gone on? I’ve been spending a lot of time making cards for Operation Write Home. I’m really enjoying it! It’s nice to be able to do something I love and help at the same time. Here are some cards I made for Sketch Challenge #161.
I also made a ton of kid’s cards using the same sketch. You can check out my Flickr account to see more.
We’ve also been busy rearranging the apartment a bit. Eh, there’s only so much you can do to this little place anyway, however, I ended up with a really nice craft area FINALLY! With some really great shelving for all my crafty goodness.
Hubby made me a light box, so now I can take beautiful photos of my cards! We followed a tutorial I found here, only we increased the size so I could photo scrapbook pages as well. We also cut open the sides as well to be able to get more light in. Speaking of lights, these are the Ottlites I am using. I just love them!
So, I started taking my pictures and THEN realized I hadn’t a clue as to what I was doing. Quite honestly, I didn’t even know how to use my camera other than on the AUTO setting. Ha! So Lisa and I spent all night last night going over my camera settings and such to get a fairly decent shot. I surely wouldn’t have gotten this far without her!
Well, that’s pretty much it for now. I’m hoping to be posting some new cards soon, as I just started the You’ve Got Mail class by Studio Calico! As my husband would say…
Peace Out! 🙂
