CAS2 Day 7! – Single Layer Cards

Hi Everyone! I can’t believe a week has gone by already! I NEVER want this class to end!  Today we focused on single layer cards again.  Frightening, yes, I know!!!  You. Can’t. Cover. Up. Your. Mistakes. GAHHH!  It’s really a problem.  LOL!  I’m trying to embrace it, but… it’s really a problem. So… my first card was a #FAIL!  No big thing really.  I really didn’t have the appropriate stamp, so I tried to use what I had and it just wasn’t going to work.  My second card worked out pretty good… and here it is:

I used Neenah Solar White Cardstock cut at 4.25″ x 4.25″.  I mad the flower mask using a Spellbinders die and then sprayed with Mister Huey Sherbet.  The stamps used were Lawn Fawn & Hampton Arts. The ink was Hero Arts Mid-tone Shadow Ink in Orange Soda.

Clean & Simple 2 – Day 6! – Not so Much…

So, today was day 6 of the CAS2 Card Making class.  I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVEEEE, this class.  However, my card for today was not so CAS.  More like CAS gone awry!  LOL!  Anyway, the talented Kristina Werner had showcased a beautiful card today in which she used a great background stamp with white pigment ink on a taffy cardstock to create a great tone on tone.  Not wanting to copy it completely, I thought I would create my own tone on tone using a clear embossing powder on kraft cardstock. Eh. It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t the “white space” I had envisioned.  It had too much umph if you know what I mean.  Perhaps if I had chose a less detailed, busy background stamp it may have been ok.  But no, I love chevrons, so chevrons it was.  ONLY… way too much chevron.  Anyway… here is my Clean & Simple – Not so Much card.  😀
