Pretty Pink Posh – 10 Minute Craft Dash #20

Hey Everyone!  So an uber talented friend of mine runs a little challenge called the 10 Minute Craft Dash! You really must check out Paulina’s blog.  She has some really great stuff.  Anyway, I’ve always been intimidated by this Craft Dash and swore I would only do it once she changed the name to the 10 Hour Craft Dash!  LOL 😀  Truth of the matter is that I had tried it previously and failed miserably!  So, I’d been perusing her blog since I was out of commission and not able to do much and the colors from the challenge really appealed to me, so once my wrist would let me, I attempted it!

It took me 10 minutes and 11 seconds. Do you believe that!  Off by 11 seconds!  I think I got carried away with the sequins!  😀  Anyway, I’m going to say that I met the challenge because one of the rules is that you’re able to gather your supplies PRIOR to starting the clock and well, I didn’t realize until I needed it that I never pulled out the card stock for the card base.  So yeah, that TOTALLY took me at least 11 seconds to find!  😀  I hope you like my card!

Peace Out!

His & Hers – Day 5

Yep… that’s right, it’s me again.  Once again, I made these cards last week, but I haven’t had the opportunity to share them until today.  These cards were made for the Online Card Classes – His & Hers.  They were inspired by a technique that Amber Kemp-Gerstel shared.  I attempted the technique twice and FAILED majorly BOTH times, however, I decided to salvage them and ended up with 2 cards that weren’t so bad after all.  The technique was double embossing and I believe where I went wrong was being too aggressive with the Versamark… I don’t know. *shrug*  Anyway – Here is my first attempt.  A “HIS” card.  Great for the construction type dudes in your life!  LOL!  You can see in the 2nd picture where embossing powder stayed where it should not have, EVEN after using my EK Success Powder tool, so I’m assuming I went too crazy with the Versamark.

Actually, I’m thinking that it looks like dirt is supposed to look.  😀  And now for the “HER” card.  I had attempted to use gold embossing powder over a dry embossed wood grain, however once again, I was too overzealous with the Versamark.  So, I die cut them into hearts and used them on the card anyway.  I then used clear embossing powder over the dry embossed wood grain and was a bit more successful.  Anyway, here “HERS” is! 😀

So I hope you enjoyed my cards & I hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Peace Out!

His & Hers – Day 4 and a Bonus Card!

Hello Everyone!  I know it’s been a few days or so, but it doesn’t mean I haven’t been up to anything crafty!  I made these next two cards last week for His & Her’s Online Card Classes, but haven’t found the time to post them yet.  Yesterday I spent the entire day scrapbooking for National Scrapbook Day!!!  So, back to cards I am!  I’ve really been enjoying this class, but I’m not surprised.  I’ve enjoyed every one I’ve every taken.  Here are the cards I’ve made with MUCH inspiration from the beautifully talented Jennifer McGuire!  Here is my “HER” card:

And here is my “HIS” card!

I hope you enjoyed them.  See below for a list of supplies.

Now for my bonus card.  Izzy (my 5 year old) had a birthday party to go to today, so I made her little friend a card.  I hope she likes it!  Printed ribbon – Do you KNOW how difficult it is to tie printed (on one side) into a bow?!?!?  VERY! – but I think I managed it!  The image is “Gracie” by Kathryne and can be purchased at Whimsy Stamps. Enjoy!

Peace Out,

Supplies (first 2 cards):

Pattern Play & Some Challenges

Hello everyone! It’s been awhile or at least quite a few days.  I have to say, once again, I LOVED Pattern Play from OnlineCardClasses and I can’t wait for the next class!  I wasn’t able to make too many cards during the class, but the last few I have made are definitely inspired by what I learned. I like this card because it’s simple and it’s a great way to use up those large patterned papers that you’re just not so sure of.

Here is another card that was inspired by Pattern Play.  I also used a sketch from RetroSketches and will enter it into their weekly challenge.  I can’t say I’m a fan of paper weaving, but… I gave it a shot.  Here is the sketch:

And the card I made from the sketch.  It’s okay… I do like the paper I chose!

My final card for this post was inspired by the weekly sketch challenge at Operation Write Home.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my card.  I don’t know about you… but I just HEART those Hero Art Mid-Tone Shadow inks!  They are YUMMY!

Peace Out…

Wow! I’ve been busy!

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted, but as you can see… things have changed!  Yes, a new blog with a new url!  It wasn’t easy (at least for me), but with help from a very special friend, it came to be.  Thanks Lisa!

So, what else has gone on? I’ve been spending a lot of time making cards for Operation Write Home.  I’m really enjoying it!  It’s nice to be able to do something I love and help at the same time.  Here are some cards I made for Sketch Challenge #161.

I also made a ton of kid’s cards using the same sketch.  You can check out my Flickr account to see more.

We’ve also been busy rearranging the apartment a bit.  Eh, there’s only so much you can do to this little place anyway, however, I ended up with a really nice craft area FINALLY!  With some really great shelving for all my crafty goodness.

Hubby made me a light box, so now I can take beautiful photos of my cards!  We followed a tutorial I found here, only we increased the size so I could photo scrapbook pages as well.  We also cut open the sides as well to be able to get more light in.  Speaking of lights, these are the Ottlites I am using.  I just love them!

So, I started taking my pictures and THEN realized I hadn’t a clue as to what I was doing.  Quite honestly, I didn’t even know how to use my camera other than on the AUTO setting.  Ha!  So Lisa and I spent all night last night going over my camera settings and such to get a fairly decent shot.  I surely wouldn’t have gotten this far without her!

Well, that’s pretty much it for now.  I’m hoping to be posting some new cards soon, as I just started the You’ve Got Mail class by Studio Calico!  As my husband would say…

Peace Out!  🙂

Clean & Simple 2 – Day 3!!!

Day 3 and I am sooooo digging the Clean & Simple 2 Class!  I had thought about getting together today with my husband for lunch and then changed my mind because I wanted to watch the videos and check out all the wonderful techniques and cards!  I’m so glad I did!  Awesome stuff!  Anyway, after work I spent over an hour in the dentist chair continuing my root canal.  I must be exhausted because I dozed off in the chair! Who does that????? So, I came home and by the time we had dinner and the little one was off to bed, I didn’t want to do anything other than sit on the couch.  So, I told J & the big kid my intentions and they guilt me into getting up and making at least one card.  I’m glad they did!  I created a card using the gradient technique.  It was a lot of fun and definitely a technique I would use again.  Although I would pick different colors.  Not so sure I’m crazy about the blue I chose with the other two.  So, here it is.  Kinda blah & looks better in real life.

    Day 2 Clean & Simple 2

Day 2! Whew! One layer cards – Oh Em Gee!  I’ve only ever done a few or 1 in my whole paper crafting life.  So, I got my plan together and I started.  I used my dies to cut the mask, adhered it to my card front and started. Eh, was all I could think. I was NOT digging it.  It just wasn’t what I planned out and pictured in my head…. UNTIL… until I took the mask off.  PRETTY COOL! Anyway, here is the first card that I made from today’s class.
